Good afternoon. I would like to introduce myself.. My name is Bernadette Danielle and I am the lucky new owner of Legacy Salon.. As Mynhi has mentioned in her beautifully written goodbye post.. She and I have been working side by side for the last 8 ish years doing weddings together.. I’m so happy she reached out to me when she decided her “baby”, that she loved and cherished need a new loving owner.. I know I can uphold her standards she had, not only for her business, but the love she had for all her clients..

A little about me.. I Have been a Hair Stylist and makeup artist since 2009.. I have worked at a select few Salons in Fairfield and Orange.. in 2017 I made the jump and opened my first and very unique salon, operating independently.. you can check it out at Bernadette Danielle & Co. "A Traveling Salon" (YES! I took a motorhome and converted it into a salon).

Over the last 3 years my business has grown tremendously and I saw an opportunity to grow and build a team, and to be able to educate stylists so they can reach their dreams, just like I did..

I really hope you will stop into the salon and see all the new things happening.. and I can’t wait to meet all of you!! Mynhi has bragged how amazing and supportive her clients are.. and I can’t wait to experience that..

[09/01/20] “There are those who follow a Legacy left by those before them and then there are those who leave behind a Legacy to follow”

These were the words I said upon opening Legacy Salon over five years ago and it is with a heavy heart that I announce that I am leaving my Legacy in the hands of a colleague and friend of mine, Bernadette Romano. Bernadette and I have worked side by side on weddings for the past 8 years, traveling on site to do hair and makeup for bridal parties all over connecticut.

As you all know, small businesses were hit the hardest economically, myself included. With homeschooling being inevitable and my limited availability in the upcoming school year, I had to make a difficult decision... I had to close my shop.

Bernadette expressed her desire to open a remote location and so her and I got to talking and she agreed to take over at Legacy. Despite the remorse that I feel walking away, I am relieved to know that I am not walking away from a locked door.

I agreed to help with the transition, leaving behind specific instruction for those clients who have come to me in the past 5 years so that they can continue being taken care of the way that I always have.

Legacy Salon has created an excellent reputation over the years and I wouldn’t have left it in the hands of someone who would do anything to tarnish it. I have faith in Bernadette and upon signing over the shop, she said to me “I can see the vision you had and will try my best to keep with that”. I have faith that she will.

I have to give special mention to Ashley Torrezz, my adult-found sister from another mister. I have never met anyone so loyal and so trustworthy. I watched her grow as a stylist and even bore witness to her becoming a mother to her fourth baby (of which she calls my baby because of the squinty eyes lol). If I were to describe the ride-or-die girl, Ashley would definitely be mine. She says she has learned so much from me but I learned just as much from her and upon hiring her 5 years ago, I never anticipated to gain a life long friend. When my clients walk through Legacy (as I hope you will), you will see her familiar face. If anyone could render a service comparable to mine, it would be this girl without a doubt. I have watched her build her own legacy and I can’t wait to see where it will lead her.

I’ll stop in from time to time. Maybe Bernadette can frame a photo of me giving you a virtual hug lol. I love you all and I’ll miss you all. As lengthy as this is, I could go on forever but I’m actually starting to tear up now so I’ll stop before I mess up my lashes lol.

Bernadette, congratulations on your new endeavor. I hope that you can do what I couldn’t.
